Meike Kamp was elected Berlin’s Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information on 6th October 2022. She is a legal expert specialising in data protection and freedom of the media and information.
 
She already worked at the Berlin DPA from 2010 to 2019, most recently as Head of Unit. Prior to that, Kamp was Head of the Data Protection in the Non-Public Sector, including Telemedia and Telecommunications Unit, at the Independent Centre for Data Protection in Schleswig-Holstein. Until she took office as Berlin DPA, Meike Kamp worked for the State of Bremen in the Legal and Internal Affairs Committee of the Bundesrat.
