Head of authority: Gitanjali S. Gutierrez

Gitanjali S. Gutierrez was appointed on 2 March 2015 as our first Information Commissioner. She graduated from Cornell Law School manga cum laude in 2001 with a Juris Doctorate with a concentration in Public Law. She was called to the bar in the State of New York in 2002. Ms. Gutierrez is an internationally recognized human rights lawyer with twenty years’ experience with public access to information laws.
