In the academic field, Arístides Guerrero has stood out as a professor at the UNAM Law School. On December 18, 2018, he was appointed by the Plenary Session of the Congress of Mexico City to hold the position of Citizen Commissioner of the Institute of Transparency, Access to Public Information, Protection of Personal Data and Accountability of Mexico City.
