ICIC 2021 Conference Closed Session

The International Conference of Information Commissioners 2020 was scheduled to take place in Brasilia in June 2020, and due to be hosted by Brazil’s Office of the Comptroller General (CGU). As CGU and the ICIC Chair and Secretariat were concluding the preparations for the conference in early 2020, the world was overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Conference was postponed to 2021.

Even with the postponement of the 2020 annual Conference the hosts did not see 2021 to be a safe environment for a face-to-face Conference. Thus, CGU, in dialogue with the ICIC Secretariat and the ICIC Governance Working Group (GWG), opted to hold the Conference entirely in a virtual format.

The ICIC 2021 conference will be delivered through a closed session and open sessions (8 thematic webinars, 3 workshops, a civil society side meeting).

Arrangements for the closed session are being delivered by the ICIC Governance Working Group Chair and Secretariat, the UK Information Commissioner. The closed session will take place online 23-24 June 2021. The ICIC Secretariat at the ICO, UK, will act as organiser and facilitator for each day of the conference.

Registration for the closed session is now open for members and observers. More details can be found here
Registration closes 14 June 2021.
